Ward No. 2
Ward No. 2 is located in the northern section of Kathmandu. It has an area of 81.3 hectares. It is bordered by the road to the famed Bhat Bhateni temple and Baluwatar in the east, the Indian and British Embassies in the west, the Pani Pokhari slope and the main road to the Prime Minister's residence in the north, and the north gate of the Royal Palace in the south.
The area contains many fancy hotels and foreign embassies. The ward's Kanti Path district is densely built up and is a bustling business center, whereas the eastern part is sparsely populated and there is much open land. Because of the hotels here, many foreign guests and tourists can be seen moving around. The opening of the Radisson Hotel has further enhanced the local atmosphere. The ward is home to 3,195 households. Its population in 2001 was 13,655.
